RIDING THE NEXT WAVE OF CHANGES …. To The Employment Act
Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) are about to receive new rights. How will you manage this wave of change? The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is intending to amend the Employment Act to expand the coverage of PMEs. Currently, only PMEs earning not more than $2,500 per month may seek help from MOM on the non-payment of their salaries. Next year, the salary ceiling will be raised to $4.500 per month. Not only that, PMEs, who are General Branch (GB) members, may seek the help of their unions to bring other employment issues to MOM for mediation service. What effects will this wave of change have on you as Employer and you as a PME?
- How do these changes affect your existing employment relationship with the PMEs? Apart from the Employment Act, are there other labour legislations that offer rights and protection for PMEs? What are these legislations? Are your employment terms and conditions in compliance with these legislations?
Virtual HR In-House Subject Expert Mr Chia Boon Cher will guide you through these important questions and give you a glimpse into the future employment relationship with PMES. We are pleased to invite you to join us at this Knowledge Networking seminar. In conjunction with our 10th Anniversary, all participants will be able to purchase Mr Chia Boon Cher’s book ‘Practical Guide to the Employment Act for Good HR Practices’ at a highly subsidized rate.
